Village Yard Waste Pick Up Services and Standards

 The employees will not pick up anything that does not meet the criteria shown below.  It will become the resident/property owner’s responsibility to bring the items into conformance by the next schedule pickup date.

Yard Waste Bags

  • Must be in a biodegradable paper lawn bag.  No plastic bags  

  • Must not weigh more than 50 lbs. 

  • Bag must only contain grass clippings, leaves, small sticks and twigs  

  • No items such as a root ball 

  • No broken bags will be acceptable 

  • Yard waste bags will be picked every Monday during the months of April, May June, July, August and September 

  • Yard waste bags will be picked up the first Monday of the month during the months of October, November, December, January, February, and March

Brush Pick Up 

  • Small raked piles and misc. handfuls should be put in biodegradable paper lawn bag Limbs, etc. no bigger than 6 inches in diameter at the butt end 

  • Should be stacked together with the butt ends toward the road 

  • A stack should be no more than 3 ft x 4 ft 

  • One stack per residence 

  • This service is not intended to replace the private contractor of tree and brush removal 

  • The contractor is responsible for the disposal of brush; limbs and other debris resulting from tree cutting and pruning activities 

  • Storm damage (as determined by the village council) will be picked up and shipped by the village as time allows 

  • Brush will be picked up every Monday during the months of April, May, June, July, August and September

  • Brush will be picked up the first Monday of the month during the months of October, November, December, January, February and March

Leaf Pick Up

  • All leaves must be free of sticks and debris 

  •  Wind row along the curb or edge of the road 

  • Wind row no more than 4 feet in width from edge of the road 

  •  Wind row not within 14 feet of any stationery object (cars, poles, mailboxes, etc...)

  • We only have our leaf vacuum on our truck during October and November (stop and start dates will be on the digital sign) 

  • Any other time they need to be bagged
